Step 3. Choose the options. Do not remove the old version!

Verify that the “Import previous settings” is checked.
Decide if you want to keep the older  Photoshop version/versions.
We recommend keeping the old version for a couple of main reason.
1. The first release of Photoshop CC 2018 has some bugs, and consequently, some panels do not work correctly. Please watch the video below.
2. You should lose part of the components of your third software the may be complicated to reinstall.
So uncheck the “Remove old versions” tab. It will be very easy to uninstall later.
Now click on “Update” and launch the installation.

The panels downsizing issue in Photoshop CC 2018

The very first release of Photoshop CC 2018 has some bugs, and consequently, some panels do not work correctly. We warmly suggest keeping the previous PS version until this issue will be fixed. However, this video shows you how to let the plugin also work in CC 2018.

And now?

The downsizing issue is a known bug of this first CC 2018 release. We are sure that Adobe will fix it soon. We cannot change the panel sizing as they shouldn’t work in the other Photoshop versions or the future release of CC 2018.

Here in detail the behavior of the applications. NEXT, Wow! Classic, ALCE and Double USM 1 still work seamlessly. Wow! Pro and Double USM 2 works fine unless you don’t change the default sizing. VitaminBW 2 and Mask Equalizer must be dragged onto the palette area or kept open. In case restart Photoshop. Channels Powe Tools and VitaminBW1 works fine but needs to be re-installed.

Contrast Enhancement Evolution. From Alce to Next, to Shape

SHAPE allowed us to add key functions that were difficult, if not impossible, to implement in NEXT. We designed SHAPE using NEXT as a starting point, and improve it in five areas.
1. Introducing the multiple contrast mode. 2. Fixing the halos issue. 3. Adding a sharpening slider. 4. Adding Color boost control. 5. Allowing full customization.
